New Bank of Utica Commercial Features the Refugee Center

January 21, 2015 - A new Bank of Utica commercial that began airing the week of January 12, 2015 features the Refugee Center. Last year the Refugee Center was contacted by Barry Sinnott, Assistant Vice President of Bank of Utica, who wanted to film scenes for a new commercial.  The scenes featuring the first floor hallway are at the beginning and end of the commercial.

Colgate University Students Help Make Memories

On October 29th and 30th, seven Colgate University students currently enrolled in a class on International Migration and U.S. Immigration organized a free photography shoot for refugees in a classroom at the Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees.

MVRCR Traffic Safety Classes

Utica, NY - MVRCR is proud to announce the expansion of its Traffic Safety education program. Thanks to funding from the NYS Governor’s Multicultural Traffic Safety Initiative and the National Highway Safety Administration our program to provide training for newly arrived refugees and immigrants with limited English skills will grow during 2014-2015 fiscal year.
