The Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees is seeking interns for the Summer Internship Program! Please review the descriptions below. Minimum hours and work load vary depending on the department and intern position. If you'’re the community builder we are looking for, apply today! 

Summer 2017 Internship Opportunities Include:

The Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees is currently seeking individuals who are interested in interning during Summer 2017 at our organization. Additional internships are available for the Fall and Spring semesters. Specific positions may change from semester to semester.  Summer interns must be available to start their internship on June 1st, 2017 and participate in the New Intern Orientation. They are also expected to participate in MVRCR's World Refugee Day celebration on Saturday, June 17th, 2017 (exceptions may be possible upon explanation). We prefer Semester interns to work 8 to 10 hours a week over at least 12 weeks and summer interns to work a minimum of 15 to 20 hours a week and commit to a specified schedule over the course of 10 to 12 weeks. 

 The organization prefers individuals who are pursuing studies in the following areas:

  • International Studies/Relations
  • Human Rights
  • Human Services
  • Government
  • Journalism
  • Communications
  • Public Relations
  • Computer Sciences/Graphic Design
  • Human Service
  • Language
  • Anthropology

University students of any level of study will be considered. Prospective interns who match our organization’s needs will be contacted for an interview.  After the interview process, a final decision will be made.
