BRIA's mission is to direct resources which assist refugees and their families in achieving economic and social self-sufficiency, to aid other legal immigrants in their transition to life in the U.S., to help repatriated citizens arrive safely at home, and to assure the foster care of unaccompanied refugee minors.

CAL

The Cultural Orientation Resource (COR) Center [www.culturalorientation.net]

The Center provides important orientation resources for refugee newcomers and service providers throughout the United States and overseas. Housed at the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL), the COR Center combines CAL's linguistic expertise, the cross-cultural and technical knowledge of COR's many consultants, and the field experience of refugee service practitioners.

UNHCR is responsible for protecting over 20 million people worldwide, including refugees, internally displaced people and former refugees who are returning to their homes. As the largest international humanitarian organization, UNHCR and its 400+ partners provide food, water, shelter, medical and other types of assistance to refugees worldwide. UNHCR operates in 118 countries. When governments are unable or unwilling to protect their own citizens, UNHCR helps refugees find safety and the means to begin a normal life again.

Through a network of local offices, Application Support Centers, Service Centers, local area immigration services field offices, National Customer Service Call (NCSC) Centers, Forms Centers, and the Internet, USCIS processes all immigrant and non-immigrant benefits provided to visitors of the United States.
