Partially accredited by US Department of Justice and thereby authorized to represent clients before US Citizenship and Immigration Services and complete immigration forms on clients’ behalf. Provides advocacy, counseling, information, processing and referrals regarding citizenship and immigration issues. These services are available to all members of our community, including refugees, immigrants and citizens.

MVRCR’s Employment Unit supports refugees and other legal immigrants as they work toward self-sufficiency. Interpretation and transportation is provided to job interviews, and orientation. Other services include enhanced cultural orientation workshops about employer expectations in the US, application assistance, and resume assistance as needed. Long-term support is also provided, including job training support and mediation when necessary. Enhanced Cultural Orientation involves a year long series of educational sessions, involving staff and guest speakers from the community. Educational tracks include Family Health, Finance, Education, and Community Resources.
Traffic Safety is funded by NYS Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee on Multi-cultural Traffic Education. We focus on safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, auto passengers and drivers. A component of this program involves education on proper use of Child Safety Seats. We offer our clients hands-on practice with driving simulators and a pedestrian safety course including in-house traffic signals and a crosswalk.
